Coaching Laugh
Among the many things I coach people on, coaching them to laugh is probably the best. I see immediate results, and my clients receive an immediate benefit as well. Coaching is a great way to make a living -- by helping people achieve their goals and reach the potential they were meant to have. Everyone should have a personal coach.
Laughter is good any time, but especially at the end of a long day or a long week. In my case, this laugh came at the end of a long semester. I love teaching, and I get a lot out of interacting with my students. After weeks of work, it's good to laugh.
Okay folks, we're taking the laughter out of the house and into the streets, well at least into the car. This laugh is a good way to make your daily commute less stressful. And it's a much better way to react to the jerk who cuts you off, than what you may have been used to. Laugh every day. Laugh for no reason. Laugh your stress away.
Thornhill is a community in bloom. Strictly speaking, it's part of Markham, in the north east part of the Greater Toronto Area. It blends into Richmond Hill on the north, and into Vaughan in the west. Thornhill itself was first settled in 1794. It has been designated as a Heritage Conservation District, and boasts over one hundred historic buildings.
You can read more about historic Thornhill on the Society for the Preservation of Historic Thornhill website at http://www.thornhillhistoric.org.
Thornhill is a great place to live, and of course, laugh.
For all my German-speaking friends, the German laugh. I lived in Germany for 8 years, and both my children were born there. It's one of my favorite places in the world.
I have an oak leaf for the laugh today. I don't know the source of this rhyme, but someone once told me: "Although your job is very small and your rewards are few, remember that the might oak was once a nut like you."
As I rebuild my laugh practice vlog, I think about the reactions you have had to previous laughs. For some reason, the pencils laugh was a big hit. As well it should be, because I do indeed like pencils. What school teacher doesn't?
The pencils laugh came about after I made some new friends in a laughter workshop, where we laughed about pencils. What a great time that was! So I offer you, the pencil laugh.
Comedian Johnny Carson had pencils that he used to play with at his desk on the Tonight Show. Did you ever notice? His pencils had erasers on both ends. I really wanted some of those pencils. It suits my sense of the absurd that there can be pencils that have no points. Just like some conversations, I guess.
I remember many nights as a teenager sitting with my dad, watching Johnny Carson, and laughing until our stomachs hurt. One night in particular, Johnny did a bit about "Dickie the Stick". You had to see it. Dad and I laughed like crazy. It was one of the best times I ever had with my dad.
Do you ever have those moments when your mind just goes blank? Obviously, I do! The main point of the Green Laugh is not so much that green is a delightful colour, which of course it is, but that we are all human and therefore eminently fallible. In such a situation, the only thing to do is laugh! Hence the Green Laugh. Laugh every day. Laugh for no reason. Laugh your stress away!
And in case you're wondering, I later thought of frogs, broccoli, grass, mint, asparagus, cat's eyes, US paper currency, algae, Granny Smith apples, shamrocks, peas, bell peppers, spinach, kelp, pears, unripe oranges, lettuce, absinthe, moss, pond scum, snot, ivy, Christmas trees, limes, leaves, plants, lizards, snakes, celery, artichokes, slime, Jell-O™, LifeSavers™, emeralds, jade, leprechaun clothing, chromakey fabric, Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs, cabbages, caterpillars, grasshoppers, and Gumby!
Well, I'm not sure, but in the merge of Blogger with Google, Laugh Practice seemed to get lost. No worries, I'll be posting my famous laughter videos again momentarily. Please stay tuned! You can contact me at beth (at) agnewbr.com in the meantime. Keep Laughing!
